Granite Mountain School offers accelerated honors courses for 6th grade students in math/science and language arts/social studies. Honors courses accelerate students through our current rigorous curriculum. Because our honors classes cover 1 ½ to 2 years of content during a school year, it is imperative that we ensure students are placed appropriately in the program. Each year, students will be required to apply for the honors blocks in which they want to participate. Students may apply for one or both honors blocks. Once applications are completed, a committee will review submissions using a rubric assessment process to determine a student’s eligibility for placement in these accelerated courses. It is always a pleasure to see the growth and confidence that our honors students are equipped with at the culmination of their honors coursework.
